Published in: The Outcrop, November 2008, p. 43
The Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists recognizes Sandi Pellissier for her hard work and dedication to the Association and its membership over the past twelve years. This effort, along with each year’s Board of Directors, staff and numerous volunteers, has directly led to the success the RMAG now enjoys.
Sandi joined the RMAG office in 1996 as Office Manager and has been a part of the RMAG family ever since. From the time she was hired, she has kept office expenses under control during several difficult years and has helped each new Board of Directors construct and remain within a reasonable budget. Sandi is instrumental in organizing all aspects of numerous symposia and social events annually. Her attention to detail is crucial in making these events not only popular, but profitable. She coordinates all of the membership needs, including membership registration and dues, Outcrop mailings, publication sales, and many more tasks than can be enumerated. Based on her exemplary service to the organization, Sandi was promoted to Executive Director in 2001.
Sandi has brought continuity and historical perspective to RMAG, which has resulted in a smooth transition each year as the Board of Directors and new members come into the Association. She has seen the membership grow from fewer than 1400 members in 1997, to over 2500 members in 2008. Through it all, Sandi has provided constant support to all who work with her.
For outstanding leadership and commitment, the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists is pleased to present its President’s Award to Sandra M. Pellissier.
