The Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists is pleased to recognize Bill Houston with its Distinguished Service to RMAG Award for his commitment to the organization and for continuing to coordinate successful networking opportunities for the Denver oil and gas industry.
Since moving to the Denver area in mid-2000, Bill has become an active RMAG member by participating in a wide range of activities for the organization. He has served on several committees, including Continuing Education in 2003 and Chair of Emerging Leaders 2003-2004 and again in 2006. Bill served as Sponsorship Chair and Meeting CoChair for the RMAG 2003 Basin Centered Gas Symposium. He has also served on the RMAG Board as Treasurer in 2004-2005. Bill is Co-Editor of the 2008 RMAG Guidebook, entitled Revisiting the Paradox Basin.
One of Bill’s most significant contributions is as Coordinator for the RMAG/DGS/SPE/ DAPL/DWLS Industry Networking Receptions, which he has served since 2005. These receptions provide important networking opportunities for several multi-disciplinary professional societies prominent in the Denver-area oil and gas industry, and have become enormously successful.
In addition to Bill’s commitment to RMAG, he is equally as active in the AAPG where he strives to represent Rocky Mountain issues in a national forum. Since 2007, he has been Chair of the RMAG Delegation to the AAPG House of Delegates.
For Bill’s untiring commitment to RMAG, he is exceptionally deserving of the Distinguished Service to RMAG Award.
