Industry representatives today touted the 9th Annual Denver Prospect Fair & Technofest as the “best ever.” The event provided an opportunity for investors to view a large sample of Rocky Mountain area prospects and visit with the people who support the oil and gas industry in the intermountain west. We had a full house this year with 46 Prospect Fair exhibitors and 84 Technofest exhibitors, the largest ever registered, and over 1,100 attendees!

The Prospect Fair & Technofest was on held Monday, November 5, 2007 at the Colorado Convention Center. Hosted by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists (RMAG), the booth-type format allowed participants to browse alternating rows of prospect exhibits as well as technical exhibits, and offered members of the Rocky Mountain oil and gas community an opportunity to view a broad range of potential plays.

Prospect booths showcased projects in all the major Rocky Mountain basins and the continental US with prospect locations ranging from Washington and Oregon to California, from the Mid-Continent to Northern and Southern Appalachia and Louisiana with one prospect from the Niger, Africa.

The technology booths gave attendees a glimpse of the latest products and services in the industry. A theater-type format was introduced this year with vendors and prospectors filling two theater sessions that ran concurrently.

Other host organizations for the event include the Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States (IPAMS), the Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen (DAPL) and the Denver Geophysical Society (DGS).

Next year’s Prospect Fair & Technofest is scheduled for November 3rd, 2008, and it will be held in the Korbell Ballroom, the “Big Ballroom,” at the Denver Convention Center with 25% more room! We hope to see you again next year.
