The Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists is pleased to recognize Debra K. Higley-Feldman with its Distinguished Service to RMAG Award for her commitment to the organization and her outstanding work on the Continuing Education Committee.
Debra became active RMAG member on the Continuing Education Committee in 2003, becoming Chairperson of the committee in 2006 and 2008. Her previous RMAG offices were as Secretary in 1998 and 2nd Vice President in 2007. During her tenures as Chairperson, she was instrumental in the coordination and the production of numerous symposia, core workshops and short courses which were highly attended. Debra’s organizational skills, exceptional planning and her ability in getting others involved in these functions, created a seamless and enjoyable atmosphere. Her attention to detail, thoroughness and positive attitude were the main force behind those very successful educational events.
In addition to Debra’s contributions to RMAG, she has served as an AAPG delegate from 2001-2004 and a visiting guest lecturer for the past decade. She also has been active with SEPM/RMS, serving as Treasurer, Vice-President, President-Elect and President/ Advisor from 1990 to 1996.
In response to Debra K. Higley-Feldman’s continuing support of the RMAG and her tireless efforts to create a better organization, she is enthusiastically presented with the 2009 Distinguished Service to RMAG award.
