The Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists is honored to present Donna Anderson its 2002 Distinguished Service to RMAG Award. This award is given to members who have contributed to RMAG in meaningful and beneficial ways.

Donna has been a member of RMAG since 1982 and has been an active volunteer for many of those years. In 1993, she served on the Continuing Education committee, and in 1995 on the Nominating Committee. She was elected Treasurer in 1997 and elected First Vice-President in 1999. Since 1999 she has been on the Publications Committee, serving as co-editor on the Gas in the Rockies volume and co-editor of The Outcrop. In addition, Donna is now editor of the Mountain Geologist. Throughout all these endeavors, she has never hesitated to take on additional responsibilities when needed.

Donna received her BA in Earth Science from California State Fullerton, an MS from UCLA, and a PhD from the Colorado School of Mines. She was employed by several firms as an engineering geologist and by Mobil as a petroleum geologist.  She has been a consultant since 1992 and also works as a research assistant professor at the Colorado School of Mines. She is always eager to mentor the students she meets there.

In recognition of these many contributions, it is with great pleasure that the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists presents its Distinguished Service Award to Donna Anderson.
