The Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists is pleased to present Jeanne Harris with Honorary Membership. This highest honor is awarded for outstanding service to RMAG and to the geologic profession.
After Jeanne earned her BS and MS degrees in geology from the University of Michigan in 1975, she started her career with Mobil Oil Corporation in Denver as a geologist and geophysicist. Jeanne’s professional career also included positions at Natural Gas Corporation of California, and later at Equity Oil Company. Jeanne and her husband Robert Groth co-founded G&H Production Company LLC, where she currently utilizes her geology, geophysics, land, drilling and operations experience to generate development and exploration plays.
Jeanne joined RMAG and AAPG early in her professional career. Since then, she has served on countless committees and in numerous leadership positions. Jeanne served as 1st Vice President of RMAG in 1998, served as Publications Committee Chair in 1999, and on numerous other committees. She has served for over 20 years as delegate for the AAPG House of Delegates (“HOD”). She was AAPG HOD Secretary/Editor, served as the Delegate Chair for the Rocky Mountain Section (“RMS”), and on various HOD committees. Most recently, Jeanne was an impressive fund raiser for the hugely successful Rocky Mountain Section-AAPG/Colorado Oil and Gas Association meeting in Denver in 2004.
Jeanne has given our professional organizations her time and energy in a most generous manner. In both her career and professional activities, she contributes a sparkling enthusiasm that is deeply appreciated. For this, the RMAG is proud to bestow Honorary Membership on Jeanne Harris.
