The RMAG/DGS 2005 Golf Tournament was another sold-out success thanks to the efforts of event organizers Jeff Ware and Gerald Brummett, as well as sponsors, volunteers, and participants. This year’s tournament continued the wonderful tradition of providing over $6,000 in scholarship funding to the RMAG Foundation and DGS Scholarship Fund. Congratulations to everyone involved with the tournament.
The 2005 RMAG/PTTC Fall Symposium on Low Permeability Reservoirs in the Rockies was held in late August-the 29th. The program offered attendees an excellent opportunity to learn more about these extremely important yet enigmatic reservoirs. The 2005 RMAG Guidebook on the same topic was to have been available for sale at the symposium, and afterward.
The Board approved co-sponsorship of two more events that should be of interest to RMAG members. The first is an October 28th short course on petroleum source rocks that will be taught by Dr. Nick Harris, who recently joined the Colorado School of Mines faculty. The second event is a Grand Canyon geologic raft trip that will be lead by Steve Sonnenberg next July. More details will follow.
The Board and Executive Director Sandi Pellissier welcome Michele Bishop to the RMAG office staff. Michele is filling in temporarily in the absence of Chris Houston, who recently left RMAG to pursue another opportunity.
