At the Friday luncheon on May 6, the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists honored its World War Two veterans. This date marked the 60th Anniversary of the end of the war in Europe. V-E day was May 8, 1945.

Nearly 40 members of RMAG who had served in the U.S. military during WW II attended the luncheon. Several brought wives and other family members to help celebrate the tribute.

A moment of silence was observed in memory of those who could not attend, including the RMAG comrades-in-arms who fell during the War. Afterwards, the veterans at the luncheon rose to a warm round of applause in thanks and to honor their service.
