Title: Geolandski 2007
Event Date: March 2, 2007
Event Location: Copper Mountain Resort
Publication: The Outcrop, May 2007, p. 35
The Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists and the Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen enjoyed a day full of skiing and networking for this year’s Geolandski on March 2 at Copper Mountain Resort. With a lot of new faces among the old familiar ones, this year’s Geolandski was as well attended and enjoyable as any. We were gifted with a beautiful morning on the slopes; however, those who came in for a brewski at lunch found it hard to return to the slopes as the sunshine turned to blowing snow by mid-afternoon. The Apres Ski Party allowed everyone a chance to view the beautiful snow-covered slopes as we enjoyed a delicious buffet and drinks while socializing amongst colleagues. We closed the afternoon with the thrill of seeing the lucky raffle ticket holders collect their door prizes – some were entertaining, others quite pragmatic. All in all, the chance to meet new friends and to visit with old companions (especially on the well-supplied bus ride home) made this year’s Geolandski another success. Thanks again to Chris Gough and Larry Bennett with the RMAG, and Robin Benko and John Obourn from the DAPL for organizing the event as well as Nhatran Tran and Emily Conrad from EnCana and everyone else who helped orchestrate this much appreciated chance for some outdoor exercise and networking opportunity away from the office. Also, a special thanks to our sponsors who make this event possible. See you all again next year!
