The Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists is proud to present a 2010 Distinguished Service to RMAG Award to Kurt D. Reisser in recognition of his many contributions to the RMAG and the geologic profession.
Kurt began his career with Exxon in New Orleans, Louisiana as a Production Geologist and in 1979 moved to Denver and joined Getty Oil Company as an Exploration Geologist. In 1981 he joined Sun Exploration and Production Company and later became District Geologist for the Central Rockies District. His discovery of Luckey Ditch Field in 1985 earned him an RMAG Outstanding Explorer Award in 1988. From 1986 to 2001, Kurt worked for companies out of Dallas, Texas but in 2001 he transferred to Denver where he continues to pursue his passion for oil and gas exploration.
Kurt has been active in the RMAG in numerous roles for the past nine years since returning to Denver. He served as RMAG Luncheon Coordinator from 2005-2008 and was 2nd Vice-President in 2008. Kurt chaired the Continuing Education Committee in 2009 and enthusiastically served as Sponsorship Chair for the very successful 2009 AAPG Annual Convention and Exhibition. He was Sponsorship Chair for the RMAG/COGA Energy Epicenter in 2010, where once again he was able to garner substantial financial support for this meeting. Additionally, Kurt was a co-chair for the RMAG 2010 Fall Symposium on New Drilling and Completion Techniques.
In appreciation of his many contributions, the RMAG presents a Distinguished Service to RMAG Award to Kurt Reisser.
